1. Swedish Style and Humble Beginnings
First, a bit about the company. Happy Plugs was founded in 2011 by their founder Andreas Vural, who created a pair of colourful headphones for his girlfriend. His aim was to create an affordable and fashionable piece of tech that was also well-designed.
Enter Happy Plugs, who offer cool looking headphones that boast not only affordable prices, but also high-quality audio. Their products are designed in Stockholm, which is a plus for the style aspect and I always appreciate a company that comes from humble beginnings.
But how do their “smallest and lightest true wireless headphones” stack up in terms of their performance?
2. High Quality Audio
Now, perhaps the most important aspect to consider when purchasing a new pair of headphones is the audio quality. The Air 1 Go wireless headphones offer a great sound packed in a very small package. The audio quality is comparable to its more well-known and expensive counterpart the Apple Airpods. I own a pair of both, so I can honestly say so.
In a direct comparison of the two, the Apple Airpods do have a better sound quality but not by much. Definitely not 3x times the price kind of better quality. I’ll touch more on this point in the next section.
In conclusion, these headphones do have high quality audio, but they don’t have noise cancelling functionality. So, I typically use these for taking calls, listening to podcasts, and diving into audiobooks.
If you’re looking for something to keep out the noise during your busy and loud commute these probably aren’t for you. You’ll have to fork out a lot more cash to get that. But for the price tag, these definitely offer great audio quality!
3. Quality at an Affordable Price
Another important aspect to consider when purchasing a new pair of headphones is the price. The Air 1 Go headphones definitely win in this category! These are one of the few affordable wireless headphones I have tried that aren’t complete garbage.
For the very reasonable price of £49.99 (plus your 10% exclusive discount) you can get your hands on a very cool looking and fashionable piece of tech, that not only has good audio quality, but are also well built and quality designed.
The case and the headphones are made up mostly of plastic, but it high-quality and well-built. It’s something you’ll notice as soon as you open up the packaging. It’s one of the things I appreciated the most and wasn’t expecting for such a low price point.
4. 11 Hour Battery Life
The Air 1 Go headphones also boast an 11-hour battery life. I’ve never listened to anything for 11-hours straight, but I can definitely vouch for the battery life of these! I have to charge my Apple AirPods every night after a full day of use. After 2 years of use the battler life of the AirPods is abysmal, to say the least. So far with the Air 1 Go’s I’m having a completely different experience. I can even go several days without having to charge the case and not be worried about these running out of battery on a long bike ride or run! I can’t say the same for my AirPods, granted there 2 years old… BUT for £159 I’d expect more!
All in all, the Air 1 Go’s battery life is definitely really good. At least for my particular use, which consists mostly of audiobooks and podcasts.

5. Full Control with a Touch
Another one of my favourite features is the amazing touch control of the Air 1 Go headphones. 14 different touch controls to fully control your music, phone calls, and your phone assistant (e.g. Siri). I loved this and really appreciated the amount of control that these offered. As someone who primarily uses these while being active, I loved the fact that I rarely had to pull out my phone to access the controls I was looking for.

6. Fashionable
These look great in-ear and aren’t too bulky or bulging, which is vital when it comes to fashion. It’s not really fashionable to have some huge piece of plastic sticking out of your ear, so it’s another feature that I appreciated.
They also come in 5 different colours, which was great to see. It allows for more opportunity to switch it up from the typical white or black colour we’re used to seeing.

7. Sweat Resistant
The matte finish of these are great, especially when it comes to its sweat resistance capability. This was also an important factor for me especially as I use these primarily while I’m working out. So far so good. They’re easy to confidentially wipe down to clean without damaging them. I’m also not worried about them during the intense cardio sessions where I sweat like mad!
8. Ease and Convenience
As mentioned above these are Happy Plugs’ smallest and lightest wireless headphones. They slip into your pocket or bag without being intrusive or annoying. Another thing that I really like was that they’re super easy to connect to multiple devices. I have two phones (one personal, one for business) as well as two laptops (again one personal, one work) and connecting to each of my devices was a breeze!
9. Small and Light Weight
At the risk of overlapping my previous point I had to include this as a standalone point because these are particularly small and light weight! When it comes to wireless air buds it’s something you would expect anyways, but these are definitely the smallest and lightest ones (speaking about the ear buds themselves, but also the case) I have ever got my hands on. When comparing them to the Apple AirPods they are a tiny bit smaller in size, but noticeably much lighter in weight!
So, what’s the final verdict?
For the price, the Happy Plugs Air 1 Go wireless headphones are definitely a great buy! If you’re looking for something really affordable, but functional, high-quality and fashionable these are definitely for you.
